Week One

Monday

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread & 1 boiled egg, 1 orange, coffee

Snack: 5 strawberries, 10 almonds, 1 saffron tea

Lunch: spinach-rice with feta and 5-6 olives

Snack: 3 dried apricots and 3 walnuts

Dinner: Portobello mushrooms with grilled/baked vegetables & balsamic

Tuesday

Breakfast: 1 cup milk (1.5%) and 4 Tbs whole wheat cereal, 1 orange, coffee

Snack: 1 pear and 3 walnuts

Lunch: baked liver and seasonal salad with a drizzle of olive oil, 8 olives and brown rice

Snack: 1 banana and Greek yogurt with honey

Dinner: 1 boiled egg with lettuce, carrot and feta salad

Wednesday

Breakfast: 1 cup juice and 2 rice cakes with 1 tsp honey & 1 tsp margarine, coffee

Snack: 1 apple, 10 almonds and 1 saffron tea

Lunch: lentil soup with feta

Snack: 1 yogurt with cinnamon and 3 walnuts

Dinner: Omelet (2 eggs, vegetables, drizzle of olive oil) and lettuce-carrot salad

Thursday

Breakfast: grilled cheese with turkey on whole grain bread, coffee

Snack: 1 kiwi and 3 walnuts

Lunch: Baked fish with green leafy vegetables and 1 sweet potato and 4-6 olives

Snack: nuts with raisins and 1 saffron tea

Dinner: Ntakos with tomato, feta, olive oil and capers

Friday

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread with 1 tsp tahini with honey, coffee

Snack: 5 strawberries, 10 almonds and 1 saffron tea

Lunch: Whole wheat pasta with soy meat sauce and a salad with lettuce, arugula, spinach and carrots

Snack: 3 dried apricots and 3 walnuts

Dinner: Portobello mushrooms with grilled/baked vegetables and balsamic

Saturday

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread with 1 tsp honey & 1 tsp margarine, 1 cup milk (1.5%), coffee

Snack: 3 figs and 10 hazelnuts

Lunch: Baked chicken and seasonal salad with a drizzle of olive oil and 8 olives, 1 cup quinoa

Snack: 1 Greek yogurt with cinnamon and 1 apple

Dinner: Arabic pita bread with cheese and turkey and cabbage, carrot salad 

Sunday

Breakfast: 1 cup juice, 1 whole wheat cereal bar, coffee

Snack: 6-8 almonds, 4 dried apricots and 1 saffron tea

Lunch: steak with green leafy vegetables and 4-6 olives

Snack: 1 Greek yogurt (2%), 3 strawberries and cinnamon

Dinner: Smoked salmon and arugula, cucumber and dill salad

 

Week Two

Monday

Breakfast: 1 cup milk (1.5%) and 4 Tbs whole wheat cereal, 1 tsp raisins, coffee

Snack: 1 banana, 1 saffron tea

Lunch: black-eyed peas with spinach, feta and 4-6 olives

Snack: 1 Greek yogurt with cinnamon and 3 walnuts

Dinner: baked sardines, 1 slice whole grain bread, green leafy vegetables and 6 olives

Tuesday

Breakfast: 1 cup juice, 1 slice whole grain bread with 1 tsp honey & 1 tsp margarine, coffee

Snack: 1 orange and 3 walnuts

Lunch: Omelet with vegetables and mushrooms with cabbage, carrot salad, 4-6 olives, 1 slice bread

Snack: 10 almonds, 4 strawberries and 1 saffron tea

Dinner: rice with Greek yogurt

Wednesday

Breakfast: 1 cup juice, 1 whole wheat cereal bar, coffee

Snack: 6-8 almonds, 3 prunes and 1 saffron tea

Lunch: baked beans, feta and 4-6 olives

Snack: 1 Greek yogurt (2%), 1 apple and cinnamon

Dinner: Tuna over a bed of spinach, arugula and pomegranate

Thursday

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread with 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp soft margarine, 1 cup milk (1.5%), coffee

Snack: 1 pear and 1 kiwi

Lunch: fish stew with carrots and celery, 4-6 olives

Snack: 2 rice cakes, 1 saffron tea

Dinner: 1 Arabian pita bread with cheese, turkey, carrot and olive paste

Friday

Breakfast: 1 cup milk, 4 Tbs whole wheat cereal, 1 tsp goji berries, coffee

Snack: 1 banana, 1 saffron tea

Lunch: whole wheat pasta with sundried tomatoes, feta, arugula and 4 olives

Snack: 2 tsp raisins, 1 Greek yogurt with cinnamon

Dinner: Portobello mushrooms with balsamic and grilled/baked vegetables

Saturday

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread with cheese and turkey, coffee

Snack: 2 whole wheat crackers and 1 cup juice

Lunch: Turkey burgers, 1 slice whole grain bread, arugula and lettuce salad, 4 olives

Snack: 1 Greek yogurt with cinnamon and 1 apple

Dinner: Salad with quinoa, arugula, spinach, lettuce, 1 Tbs chopped walnuts, parmesan and balsamic

Sunday

Breakfast: 1 slice whole grain bread with 1tsp tahini with honey, coffee

Snack: 1 banana and 1 saffron tea

Lunch: chicken soup with carrots, celery and potatoes

Snack: 1 Greek yogurt with cinnamon and 1 tsp flax seed

Dinner: 1 boiled egg and lettuce, carrot, cabbage salad

10 Tips for Detox Diet Plan Success

  1. Consume five light meals per day to stimulate your metabolism and burn fat (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner).
  2. Always start your day with breakfast. It fills you with energy and helps with weight loss.
  3. Consume at least one gallon of water per day to help flush toxins from your kidneys. Dehydration increases the risk of acidity in your system, making it fertile ground for icky things to grow. Also make sure you have the some of the following beverages: juice, light dairy, coffee, tea (saffron is better).
  4. Eat seasonal fruits and vegetables to avoid added pesticides, hormones and phytochemicals associated with harvesting plants out of season.
  5. Choose foods from all of the food groups.
  6. Consume 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables to get enough fiber in your diet.
  7. Eliminate salt from your food. Increase the detox potency and flavor of your food by adding lemon juice, celery and herbs like parsley.
  8. Avoid foods that are high in fat such as cakes, mayonnaise, dressings, butter and full-fat dairy products.
  9. Exercise! You will not only burn fat, but will also boost your liver health, ridding your body of toxins and waste.
  10. Drink one cup of green tea before and after lunch.
